Tim O’Hara serves as the Chief Information Officer at Wheels, leading the IT function to ensure that a modern, secure, and reliable technology architecture aligns with the company’s ambitious goals. His broad IT experience includes leading IT teams to manage, integrate, and transform complex application and infrastructure landscapes to meet evolving security and business needs in high transaction volume environments.
In his role, Tim drives the development and optimization of IT strategies, focusing on enterprise architecture, software development, data management, quality assurance, cloud engineering, and security to support the company’s growth and innovation. His leadership is crucial in maintaining robust and scalable IT systems.
Before joining Wheels, Tim had a 19-year tenure at Essendant, a $5.4 billion wholesale distribution company, where he advanced to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. In this role, he was responsible for formulating and executing IT strategies and initiatives across all business units, enhancing the company’s technological capabilities.
Tim holds a BS in Applied Computer Science and Math in addition to earning alumni status at Harvard Business School after completing several Executive Education Programs. Tim is currently a member of both the Innovative Executives League, a group for senior executives in the Greater Chicagoland area and the CIO Global Forum, an invitation-only group for senior technologists.
