A lot is changing in the world of tax compliance. Back in January, the United States IRS published new guidance regarding taxable benefits. This was due to the COVID-19 pandemic drastically reducing the number of business and personal miles driven. These changes included an option to move to a Cents Per Mile (CPM) taxable benefit calculation instead of Annual Lease Value (ALV) for the 2020 tax year.
But now, we are excited to announce that Wheels is offering CPM as an alternative to ALV for the 2021 tax year and beyond!

Rental vehicle companies at popular summer travel destinations are facing shortages as more families are driving to their vacation destinations rather than flying. Enterprise, our primary rental vehicle provider, confirmed they are prioritizing our fleet rentals above consumer retail rentals, and we are urging them to continue to do so. While Enterprise is our preferred rental provider, we also work closely with other rental partners to fulfill a need when they are unable.
During this time, the best way to ensure a vehicle rental reservation request is fulfilled, is to provide advanced 48 hours’ notice. This allows our rental partners time to plan for their upcoming reservations and cuts down any wait time, if any, a driver may experience.
If an urgent need arises, we will work diligently to secure a rental but there may situations where a vehicle is not available.
Before picking up the rental vehicle, is it advised that the driver call the location to confirm their reservation along with the vehicle availability. If something changed with the reservation, the driver should call Wheels so we can help find another solution.
