This month, the U.S. Departments of Transportation and Energy announced that through the recent passage of President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, a new National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program will build out a national network for charging electric vehicles. Nearly $5 billion will be made available under this program, which will span five years and allow for EV charging stations to be built across the country, particularly along interstate highways in the Alternative Fuel Corridor. Green Fleet magazine outlines the announcement and plans, including that in fiscal year 2022, $615 million is allotted for the program.
The EV funding in the bipartisan infrastructure law is another sign of the rapid increase in interest and activity around EVs. Wheels’ EV Resource Center is your central location for everything you need to know about an EV fleet. Here, you can get information about new and upcoming OEM EVs, revising your fleet policy for EVs, driving FAQs and more. A member of your Wheels Account Team would be happy to help you make a smooth transition.
