As of January 1, 2023, the State of Connecticut will be imposing a new Highway Use Fee on certain motor vehicles for the privilege of using public roads and highways. The Highway Use Fee will be based on the vehicle’s weight and number of miles driven in the state. The first Highway Use Fee return will be due by February 28, 2023.

Also, some carriers will be required to register with the Department of Revenue Services (DRS). More information can be found on the DRS website at www.protal.ct.gov/DRS.
