Looking Back As We Prepare to Spring Forward

With the turbulent nature of 2020, many people have commented that it feels like an entire decade has passed battling COVID-19. That sentiment is understandable with many loved ones no longer with us and many more still recovering from the implications of the virus. We wish anyone currently ill the speediest recovery. 

Yet, brighter days are on the horizon. Doctors, nurses and other front-line workers are currently receiving vaccinations. In the coming months, it will be available to many more of us. However, as we plan to move on, it’s important to not forget where we’ve been.  

In these past 10 months, the fleet industry has contributed immensely with food delivery, vaccination and therapeutic development, cleaning services and more. Work patterns have transformed, yet we’ve grown from this experience. We’re better communicators, more self-driven, and newfound experts in staying virtually connected. 

Soon we’ll be able to see each other in person, again. We’ll greet colleagues in the office; attend conferences in fun destinations; and meet up for coffee and meals. We’ll engage in all these activities knowing that as a collective, we can weather any storm. 

Let’s take this notion into 2021 as we prepare for what’s next. Some fleet events are scheduled to be hosted in person this fall. NAFA’s 2021 Institute & Expo is planned for August 30 to September 1 in Pittsburg. AFLA’s annual conference will take place from October 4 to 6 in San Antonio.
