It is the reason why, as a fleet management company, we embarked upon our first \u201cEnvironmental Sustainability Benchmark Report\u201d three years ago. The survey elicits input on goals, progress, tactics and strategies from our rich customer community. Having led the project for the past three years, we are seeing trends emerge and we think the insights gleaned are increasingly invaluable.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Emerging Best Practices in EV Adoption<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6568\" style=\"width: 600px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wheels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/benchmark_iStock-1465616010-768x292.jpeg\" alt=\"EV charging station for electric car in concept of green energy and eco power produced from sustainable source to supply to charger station in order to reduce CO2 emission .\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>One of the most notable aspects from this year\u2019s benchmark is that we are observing companies and fleets converging around what&#8217;s starting to look very much like a set of best practices, especially in managing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wheels.com\/public\/services\/fleet-management-services\/electric-vehicles\/\">Electric Vehicles<\/a> (EVs). There is a common focus on ensuring drivers successfully manage EVs at home by investing in home chargers, facilitating installation, and offering varied forms of reimbursement.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wheels.com\/public\/resource-hub\/blog\/public-charging-policy-planning-must-haves\/\">public charging<\/a> too, companies are realizing the benefits of providing their drivers with a managed program to support both charging and payment.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><em>Depot Infrastructure <\/em>is another topic the survey addresses. Planning and building out depot charging requires meticulous preparation and engagement from diverse departments including real estate, facilities, and procurement. These collaborative efforts across various sectors within organizations underscore a wider, unified emphasis and commitment to depot infrastructure.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sustainability Goals<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This year, the survey included new questions around goals and where they originate within organizations. The feedback was enlightening: the pursuit of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wheels.com\/public\/resource\/fleet-connectivity-sustainability\/\">fleet sustainability<\/a> isn\u2019t just a fleet aspiration.
