If you didn’t get to NAFA I&E this year and still have some lingering FOMO, you can ease some of your regret by joining in on the “Best of NAFA I&E: Webinars”. This curated series is comprised of those sessions that got the highest feedback from I&E onsite participants. Wheels is pleased to be presenting two of the sessions.
June 15th – Becoming a Change Hero: How to Build Your Case
You recognize the need for change in your organization and you have the driver to promote it. But do you know how to make it happen? It’s easy enough for everyone to recognize the need for change, but without a solid plan for implementation, the best intentions can fall short. According to research from both Harvard Business Review and McKinsey & Company, as many as 70% of change management initiatives fail.
A proven methodology can increase the odds for project success, manage employee resistance to change, and capture the people-dependent ROI. Change that is well managed can build change competency and innovation into your organizational DNA. So what are the elements of success? Our discussion will include:
- Preparing, equipping and supporting individuals to successfully adopt change
- Actively involving leaders throughout the organization
- Initiating methodology at the beginning of the project in order to ensure success
- Adding in some of the “fun” elements that can draw participants into the program
This session will cover how change can be navigated for your fleet. We will discuss transformational practices, including the ADKAR methodology (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability and Reinforcement) as they apply to change management in the fleet industry.
Using cases studies, the presenters will detail preparing, managing and reinforcing successful change. Our presenters will be:
- Sara Sweeney, Sr. Product Manager, Wheels
- Jason Lipes, Assistant Vice President, Wheels
- Jackie D’Souza, Fleet Program Manager, Wilbur-Ellis
June 29th – True Budget Impact in Challenging Times
Prior to the events of the past two years, fleet managers could look at costs in the fleet world—whether it was for acquisition, parts or labor—and see expenses that had been fairly predictable. New vehicle pricing increased at a rate of 2-3% per year. Labor, which impacts maintenance, increased along with the cost of living. Parts and supplies increased at similar rates. Occasionally, there would be an outlier. These regular progressions made it pretty straight-forward to create a budget.
Beginning with COVID, this steady rate of growth was disrupted. It seemed like the shortages were unending: chips, drivers, workers, parts, and fuel. Geo-political events further impacted supplies of raw materials. Suddenly vehicles were selling at MSRP or higher. In the coming year, where will vehicle acquisition and disposal pricing be?
So, what does the data tell us about the trends going forward? In this session, we will look at the past few years and use them to forecast the near future. Because fleet budgets have typically been based on the previous years’ numbers with the current cost of living rates added in, we will discuss using this new data to reset budgets moving forward. The old system is not going to work for the near future. Join this webinar to get some insight on realistic projections for creating your annual budget. Our participants will be:
- John Wuich, CAFM, Analytics, Wheels
- Richard Baich, Fleet Manager, Michael Baker International
- David Hayward, Sr. Manager – Global Fleet Management, ABM
