EcoWheels Solutions Help Client Achieve Green Standards Ahead of Schedule
A large healthcare client was asked by its parent company to reduce the fleet’s carbon footprint by 12% by the year 2010. The client came to Wheels asking if we had any solutions that could help achieve that goal in that timeframe (if not sooner). In fact, the client’s specific goals turned out to be even more ambitious than its parent company’s – our client wanted to reduce emissions by 12% and improve the fleet’s average miles-per-gallon by 12% in only 18-24 months.
Our Account Management team quickly performed a full analysis of the fleet, and partnered with the client on an implementation plan that would improve the eco-friendliness of the fleet. The components of the plan included revised vehicle selectors, strategic changes to fleet policy and an outreach program to the driver community.
The client ran a six-month pilot program within a portion of its fleet, through which its emissions were reduced by 24%. Based on this success, the full program has been rolled out across the organization, and the client is well on its way to exceeding its environmental goals much sooner than expected.
