Program Control Leads to Significant Cost Savings
Prior to working with Wheels, one of our large retail clients had no formal fleet policies or standards in place. They were unsure how to set driver policies or correctly allocate vehicles, and were concerned that their fleet performance may have been suffering as a consequence.
As part of the client’s transition to Wheels, our Account Transition and Account Management teams worked to develop a cohesive fleet program designed around the client’s unique needs. The program included setup into FleetView, our comprehensive on-line fleet management tool, and its enhanced vehicle inventory management and fleet policy tools and communications. As the client became implemented into the Wheels systems, the Wheels Account and Transitions team performed a full fleet analysis and partnered with the client on a new comprehensive fleet policy and program.
The analysis uncovered an immediate opportunity to improve their vehicle inventory management, and the client was able to instantly realize nearly $900,000 in savings by implementing a policy to reallocate hundreds of underutilized vehicles.
