UAW reaches tentative deal with Ford

The United Auto Workers union has reached a tentative agreement with Ford on a new four-year national labor contract.  Ford workers and local union leaders are expected to review the deal and complete a ratification vote in the coming weeks.

The tentative agreement with Ford comes about a week after the UAW completed ratification of a new four-year contract with GM, leaving Chrysler as the only Detroit Three manufacturer without a new labor contract in place with the union. Negotiations between Chrysler and the UAW are expected to gain momentum now that the union has reached agreements with Ford and GM.

Vehicle production continues at all manufacturers as UAW members have agreed to keep working as contracts are finalized.  Wheels remains in constant contact with the manufacturers, and we are following the progress of the negotiations very closely.  We will continue to keep clients apprised of any major developments.
